The death of objective, truth seeking journalism.

Western liberalism has hijacked the media to back its war mongering ‘liberal interventionism’ and to bring down their opponents on the left and the right.

I had a gut feeling that the media and legal onslaught against Trump would backfire. The fact that these ‘Russia links’ had no evidential basis, meant that he could build the narrative of ‘fake news’ to cover up stories that were actually true. Because the media were bias, a disillusioned and sceptical electorate became attracted to the alternative to the ‘Washington swamp’ of politicians and the media that backed them.

The very same conditions presented themselves in the UK with brexit and Farage. The Liberal media slavishly ridiculed opponents of the EU project. UKIP won over the disillusioned electorate who observed the bias and wanted to give the ‘Establishment’ Parties ‘a good kicking’. Once again the political Right could use the ‘fake news’ narrative and use the growing scepticism amongst populations about Politicians and media telling the truth.

Liberalism’s ruthless control over the media raised its head again with Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party. He committed three major crimes in their eyes. Firstly, to oppose Liberal interventionist wars in Iraq, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan, question NATO’s role and to be opposed to war in general! Secondly, to not support the State of Israel’s Colonial-settler, apartheid regime. Thirdly, to propose a principled, non corrupt version of politics and a Socialist vision of wealth redistribution. For the British Establishment, the Blairite neo-liberal capitalists, imperialists and Zionists, the Conservatives, the security services, the mainstream media class, it was unconscionable that he might become the PM. Hence, the weaponisation of ‘antisemitism’ as a tool to discredit and destroy his character. Despite 0.01% of a 500,000 membership being found guilty of antisemitic hate, despite antisemitism levels being similar or less than it being found in the other political Parties, it stuck. The entire media class rallied together to paint a life-long antiracist as a racist. ‘Fake news’ reappeared again and much of the electorate saw through it. Corbyn narrowly lost the 2017 election, forcing the May government to make a pact with the Ulster Unionists to remain in power. We can only wonder what the result could have been, if the coup against Corbyn hadn’t materialised.

Self-inflicted, Liberalism is in crisis. The disillusioned and sceptical public don’t trust their Establishment media mouthpieces. As Reform’s dramatic ascent proves, the electorate want change and want radical alternatives to the old 2-Party system. A PR system is needed urgently, to allow people to have choice and vote for alternatives. Our Media needs to learn the lessons of their bias, in a digital world, they’re loosing the battle for ‘truth’. The most likely outcome, as ‘Trumpland’ shows us, is authoritarianism and neo-fascism.
